Nails In The Fence
Today’s lesson starts, and ends, with the words you speak!
Think of it like this; your words are like leaves that drop off of the trees in the fall. Once they have fallen, those leaves can never return to the branch they came from. Now, I know that may sound a little silly, but it’s true.
We can say the same about your words. Once they are spoken they are . . . gone . . . lost . . . never to be retrieved again.
This simple story shows you how important your words are, and is masterfully illustrated by a father and his irate, temper-prone son.
Making Video FUN & EASY!
P.S. Oh, by the way, it is Fall here in the midwest, and you’ll get to see some of that beauty in today’s video.
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that, every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven thirty-seven nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily, gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally, the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father about it, and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed, and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, “You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say, ‘I’m sorry.’ The wound is still there.”
The little boy then understood how powerful his words were. He looked up at his father and said, “I hope you can forgive me, Father, for the holes I put in you.”
“Of course I can,” said the father.
Nails In The Fence
Today on this 2003 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to install part number 20119. This is a replacement multi-tow-seven-way and 4-pole trailer connector. First off we'll go ahead and find a place for a mounting bracket. Underneath the edge of the bumper just behind the plastic is a nice area where we can attach our bracket. Now the kit comes with a couple of self-tapping screws, so we'll use those to run it through our bracket into the bumper. On our second hole the tip of our self-tapping screw kind of broke so we just went and got another self-tapping screw and placed it right next to it.Now we'll go ahead and install our connector. We'll go ahead and push our wiring through the connector then push it into place. Then using the hardware that comes with the kit we'll go ahead and attach it to the bracket.
Note: Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
