My wife takes good care of her 2013 Juke, and in fact, bought the Gold Extended Warranty that was represented to us that it would cover things when the Factory warranty expired. One day lately, she called me to say when she was driving 70 mph, it was losing power…and the Service Engine Light came on. She called Peltier Nissan and was told that surely that would be under warranty, and they provided her a loaner car (with a huge ugly sign in the rear window saying RENTAL CAR). Well, a bit later, she hears that the warranty people are NOT going to cover repairs because the oil was not viscous enough. Today, a reverse explanation was the oil was TOO viscous and burned. The problem allegedly was damage to the bearing in the Turbo…but you see, per what I read on the internet, the Turbo is water cooled…not mainly cooled by engine oil. So, the Nissan Gold Extended Warranty program is trying to screw us to the tune of $2300 dollars, PLUS, we had to turn that loaner car back in because they were going to charge use 200 bucks a day, and go rent a car from a national chain at a MUCH cheaper price for a week. So, the bottom line is their extended warranty APPEARS to be a scam…and I would NOT urge ANYONE to buy a Juke and especially not from Peltier Nissan in Tyler Texas…or ANY car from Peltier.
